The airport lounge is sweet. I almost threw a diva-seque tantrum when there was a mistake and I was denied the first class lounge, but I am simply trying to stay on the bright side of things and not make eye contact with any of these business class plebeians. I have managed to get the all important coffee stain out of the way. I was tired of worrying about my pristine pink cardigan and the coffee lid not being on tight really alleviated things.I keep clutching my blue accordion folder to me with a wild eyed glance that sends a clear and confident message to any thieves "PASSPORTS INSIDE!" in bright Hello Kitty letters above my head.
My husband's anxiety:
"I will calm down when we get to LAX"
"I will calm down when we find the lounge"
"I will calm down when we find a fax"
"I need a Xanex"
Too bad he has so many business woes on his mind. Hopefully he can have some better living through pharmaceuticals. I plan to medicate him across international waters. I hear I get immunity or something.
Did y'all think I would be all unicorns and skittles right now? Less focused on the details of why I am not allowed in the frosted glassed bliss that is the first class lounge and more focused on the amazing daughter that will be placed in my arms in two days? The reality is, it is exhausting to cycle through the excitement/joy/trepidation/anxiety/sobbing in the bathroom emotional bag carousel that has been my life for the past 5 years. The past two years alone would have made the Dali Llama take up Valium and dark chocolate. And right now distractions are pretty mandatory. They reduce the risk of me channeling Shirley Mclaine and lurching through the airport screaming "I need my daughter! Hey, I need my daughter now, dammit! NOOOOOOOOW!(although between you and me I could nail this one)".
So, the plan is to get on the plane and get on Taiwan time. When we board, it will be 3am Taipei time. We need to sleep for about 5-6 hours. Then if we can stay up for the next eight, hit Japan, and then Taipei, it will be 7:35pm when we arrive and hopefully we can pass out for the night. The next day we pick up Ellencakes! So stay tuned, buckle up and say a prayer for me, for Jim and for Baby Ellen.

Wha-hoo!! You're on your way - I can barely stand it!
Keep the drugs flowing to poor Jim. I'm sure he could use every last one. And you keep blogging! I want to witness every step.
xo.
Better living through pharmaceuticals - Definitely!!! I am so thrilled that you are at the happy end of what sounds like a very long road. Yey!! I can't wait to see Ellen in your arms! Hurrah! Sarah = )
You are too funny! I am seriously going to be checking this out daily until you get back to the States... :)
The last time I was in LAX airport, I got my picture taken with DAVID BECKHAM! Seriously, I felt like it was make-believe-land. ha ha.
Just sending HUGE blessings and good travel vibes your way! Sounds like you guys have all the rest covered ;) , so I'll stick with a big ole...yay!!!

Hi Jill!
I had no idea you guys were leaving already! I had the "29th" stuck in my head, but it makes sense that you would head over and get settled (but I guess not that settled, if you meet Ellen in two days ;-)wink!)
I am so happy you guys are going to get your sweet baby girl! Keep us updated!

Awwwwwwwesome. I hope you ate a lot of warmed nuts on the plane. You guys are my favorite warmed nuts, by the way. Give Ellen a hug from us!!!
Much love to all of you!!

Jill,
I hope you had safe travels.
Speaking of celebrities, the only time I flew through LAX, I was on a flight with "Darryl" from The Bob Newhart Show. You know Daryl, and his other brother Darryl. :)
Tomorrow will be a joyous day.
Chuck
Thank you for taking us on a portion of this amazing journey with you. I'm so glad it's the end of the difficult and beginning of bliss. Can't wait for your arms to be full of that baby girl! You've waited long enough.
Isn't Taipei airport lovely? I flew through there with a 14 month old Delaney on my way to Okinawa to see Ryan once. Couldn't find anyone who spoke english at 3am to tell me where I needed to go.
Support and hugs coming your way. Take care!
We saw Snoop Dogg on our way back home, so you have another chance for big star sightings. I agree about the roller coaster of emotions. I booked the wrong day for our ticket from LA to Taipei. Talk about a sobbing, freaking out mess!!! Can't wait to see the picture of Ellen in your arms.

We can't wait to see her in person. Many blessing to you and your family. Hugs, Dawn
Okay that's what I get for reading the first(last) post first. OMG I'm so excited. Okay you *leave* taiwan on the 5th. Sheesh!
